Sophie Carpenter

Singer-songwriter Sophie Carpenter began her career playing guitar and singing originals along with her favorite folk songs at Europa Cafe in St. Louis’ Central West End.
Through the years she sang with 3 local bands. “I sang anything they wanted me to, from Country Rock to Motown and in any key just to have a chance to sing.” It was her passion for songwriting that took her to Santa Cruz, where she lived in an RV at the beach for 12 years writing and co-producing material for 6 CDs. 
Home in St. Louis now, Sophie has teamed up with longtime friend, collaborator and accompanist, well known St. Louis keyboardist Pete Ruthenburg. “Original Ballads and Love Songs” is a collection of carefully selected songs they hope people will really relate to and enjoy.
