Laka, pronounce "Lay-ka" is a soul singer based in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up singing in church. Her musical influences include Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, James Brown, Etta James, Otis Redding, and Bill Withers. Although drawn to soul, blues, and jazz genres, Laka loves to get a crowd moving to pop tunes as well. Commonly referred to as dynamite, Laka’s new fans are often surprised by the power of her voice.
