Join New York Songbird (and St. Louis Native) Cara Dineen as she weaves a story of divine feminine inspiration from the boldest female performers of the past 100 years. Jazz-tinged arrangements will feature the music of Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, and Bjork, spanning multiple genres, eras, and styles. In this one-night-only debut performance, raise a glass with Cara as she pays homage to female performers who inspired generations -across time and space- to find their own personal power and voices. A portion of ticket proceeds will be donated to “The Lift Music Fund”, which helps underserved BIPOC student musicians afford costs to advance their musical training.
After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, jazz and contemporary vocalist Cara Dineen performed extensively throughout New York City from 2012-2020. As a vocalist, she was selected to perform in a multitude of high-profile events for SpaceX, Coco Chanel, and GQ Magazine with her two bands: BELLATONIC (jazz/pop) and The Brooklyn Sugar Stompers (traditional jazz & blues 1920’s-1930’s). Since 2017, Ms. Dineen has performed internationally as solo vocalist and M.C. for celebrated American tap-dance group The Tap Factor. Under the moniker “ANAAM”, Ms. Dineen creates solo-vocal improvisations with a loop/effects pedal and composes electro-acoustic music. Currently an adjunct music instructor, Ms. Dineen teaches jazz and contemporary voice at Lindenwood University.
